So a good friend of mine and I are going to different unis and we will live 3hrs apart. Will our friendship still last or will it fall apart?

This all depends on you guys and how much you want it to last. Talk often, try to see each other when possible. My best friend literally live 7 hours away from me by plane and we've kept it strong since he left. He'll be back here for the summer! It's just a matter of not letting days and days go past with out talking. Good luck to you guys!

Like Alyssa said, it largely depends on you guys. Often, when people go to university they either drift away from high school friends, stay kind of the same, or get closer. It really shows you who your "real" friends were - the ones willing to communicate with you and see you when you come home for whatever even if they can't always see you.

I know when I went to university I drifted away from so many of my friends. Only about 1/4 of the people I thought were my friends I am still friends with. It's not that I came to dislike any of these people, it's just that for one reason or another we drifted apart. That said, I've lived 4+ hours away from my best friend for almost 10 years now because she moved after grade 9 and we stayed really close. When I went to university, I stayed close with my other 2 best friends; one of them I got closer with and the other I have sort of drifted apart from in the 6/7 years since but not much, we still talk a lot. Other friends, some I talk to only when I plan to go home. It's hard cause not all people are willing to make the effort to stay in touch. They're living their lives and you're living yours. When your making new friends, sometimes old ones slip. Not that it'll happen, it's just that you tend to be like "well, this person and this person mean the most so I'll try really hard there"

Hi there.

As those above me have mentioned, it all depends on you and your friend.

I talk to some of my friends nearly every day on Facebook, by text messages and phone, while others I see whenever we can catch up.

I personally feel it doesn't matter if my friends and I talk everyday because we always have something to talk about when we do catch up face to face.

I hope that helped.

Hey there. Most of my friends live halfway around the world, and we still make time for each other. I think the important thing to remember is to make the time! I know that going to school puts a huge pressure and that you will be busy most of the time, but if you want to stay connected, you need to set some time to chat. It doesn't have to be everyday. It could be once a week for all that matters, but make the time.

Best friend are forever. Just don't lose touch.

I think you can still be good friends even though you are far from each other.
If you are going home in the weekends or the holidays, try to mkae time for each other. If you feel like you haven't spoken or seen your friend in a long time, you can always call or text your friend.
I hope this helped you

Hello

Talk to each other often, and remember that when there's a will, there's a way. Friendships transcend the seas and maybe even continents.

Most of all, if the both of you want to understand and support each other, the friendship will without a doubt last forever!

It's called a tunnel because there's ALWAYS a light at the end.

rant to me if there's anything!
