Ok I just kind of noticed how weird my dad is. So my dad(m39) is always telling me(FtM12) I can't wear certain dresses or shorts because they're "too short" and it's just "respectful" when I only own things that might be a hair under my finger tips, but not by much. And I can't wear off the shoulder things because apparently our shoulders are sexual organs now! And he turns around and says he's trying to "protect me" like dude if you were trying to protect me, protect my happiness right now. If wearing something makes me happy, let me fucking wear it, now I have to wear men's shorts around my dad to feel comfortable in my own fucking skin.
Is it too weird that my dad does this?
I can't help but repeat myself
"I know it's not your fault"
Still lately, I begin to shake
For no reason at all

Hi, some parents do not really care about how the children or teenagers are dressing. Then you have other parents who do care and they can only have clothes that they say you can have and go to school in. You can try talking to him about this and see how that goes.

What you wear may be a case of picking and choosing your battles and listening to their house, their rules. My parents didn’t let me wear things like low cut tops or too short shorts either. Parents have been dictating what their kids wear for decades. Is it right for our bodies to be sexualized or to have to watch what we wear because “the boys might be distracted?” Absolutely not. But while you’re under their roof this is probably not something worth arguing too hard about it.
Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive
Hi, I hope everything works out for you soon and everything will be okay with time.
