Dealing with political turmoil - January 21st 2021, 12:02 PM

Not sure if this belongs but tips on dealing with all the political stuff

Limit exposure to news
Limit interactions with people who have opposing views to times you feel mentally able
Give yourself permission to unfriend/step away from relationships
Deactivate or limit time on social media

I like this idea. I thought of these also:

  • Put more energy into your own beliefs and being true to yourself.
  • Focus on what you can control, as focusing on the things you have no control over can be difficult.

If clarity's in death, then why won't this die?
Years of tearing down our banners, you and I
Living for the thrill of hitting you where it hurts
Give me back my girlhood, it was mine first

I have some to add up to the list:

1. Put more time into your hobbies, or into developing new hobbies or skills
2. Tell friends or family members ahead of time that you want the conversation to be non-political when needed
3. Participate in activities that requires more attention onto yourself instead of socializing (such activities include: working out, running, reading, writing and so on)
