Tattoos and Piercings This forum is to ask questions and discuss tattoos, piercings and other aesthetic body modifications.
Hello all.
If you've seen any of my other posts, it's clear that this isn't really the music I'm 'into.'
However, The Used has been my all time favorite band since I was pretty young, and they helped me get through substance abuse.
I'm not particularly fond of tattoos, and would never get anything big.*
I came up with this idea when I was about 12. I'm 17 now, and still do want it. Although I'm not an adult yet, so I still don't know if I'll regret it later down the line.
But this is the logo I want to use. My plan is to have a single branch wrap around my wrist, (like a bracelet), and have the heart hang down on the inner right side of my left wrist.*
Any opinions?*
It's a pretty simple tattoo, but has a lot of sentiment behind it. I'm thinking of coloring the heart in black, red, yellow, to personalize it in reference to my German heritage.

Tattoo's are meant to be meaningful, and if you think this one has great meaning to you, you should go for it. I can't tell you "yes, get it" or "no, don't get it" because the decision lies entirely with you. It might be a bit expensive, since there is a lot of detailing in the tree, it just depends on the shop and the artist tattooing you. Each artist is their own, and they'll determine the cost for you based on what they think it will cost. You could always have them stencil it, and put it where you'd like to get it done. If you don't like it, the stencil can be washed off with soap and water.

The person above me basically said it all. Tattoos are always best when they have a meaning. One thing to think about though is what type of job are you thinking you would like to get? And if it's one that most likely won't allow tattoos are you willing to wear long sleeves all the time because it is on your wrist?? I'm not saying it wouldn't look sweet, but it's just something to think about.
And as to regretting it when you get a little older, I feel like you're less likely to regret it the more meaning it has to you. The person who did my foot has a few that had very little meaning when she got them and she is now working to remove them because she regrets them.

I think it's way cool, especially since you're attaching a lot of meaning to it. Like the above said, you will have to worry about employers, but as long as you can cover it up easy, there shouldn't be any issues. If you're still not 100% though, take some more time to think about if you really want it.
Sorry I couldn't be there, I was tied to a rocking chair.

Just think about if you'd like to have it for the rest of your life and if you really want it. I think its a great idea and its good that it has meaning behind it, but just be sure before you go in.
