Change birthday without lying? -
December 14th 2025, 10:34 AM
My birthday is in early November right around when they typically do the switch to standard time. This completely messes with my circadian rhythm and makes me feel off and generally bad/tired. The early sunsets are a shock to my system and it feels like my body wants to start hibernating or something. As a result, I havent really celebrated my birthday much since the switch to standard time started to bother me so much.
I really want my “birthday” to be a different date and the date that I choose is the first date that is guaranteed to be after the second sunday in March after the switch back to daylight saving time. Alternatively, I would pick the summer solstice, spring equinox, or March 1(first day of spring according to the meteorological definition). However, I would be lying if I said any of those were my birthday. It would require my age to be incorrect by several months and it isnt really my birthday. I get some people have worse birthdays, like Christmas day. But, after several years I have noticed that the return to standard time and elections have always put a damper on my birthday and my desire to celebrate it.
Every birthday, I just want to postpone it or have it on a different date. Just not in the mood at that time of year, which I feel is the most depressing time.

Hello, if you really do not like your birthday, then let everyone who you are around being your family and friends this and tell them why and then the new day for you birthday. This way everyone understands what is going on. Then you will not be upset. I wish you all the best with this.

As long as you keep your legal birthday for legal documents etc, I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with celebrating in a different months. You may have to explain yourself if someone finds out when your legal birthday is somehow, so I'd be prepared for that.
The sun is always gonna rise up
You need to get up, gotta keep your head up
Look at the people all around you
The way you feel is something everybody goes through
