3 week long period... ugh.
I've been taking the generic for seasonale for two months now. That particular birth control stops the periods for three months, then you go off and have your period. Three weeks ago, I accidentally missed a pill. I didn't think it would be a huge deal because I'm not having sex. Unfortunately, my period started and I've had it since. It's not heavy at all, it started out as brownish blood for a week, then it was normal period. I figured I'd just wait it out, but it's not stopping and it's kind of annoying now.
Should I just continue to wait? I read somewhere that it's just my body getting used to the hormones, and it doesn't seem to be affecting me negatively at all. I figured if it doesn't stop by the time I start a new pack (in about 3 weeks), I would talk to my doctor. What do you think? Have you had any experience with this kinda thing? |
Re: 3 week long period... ugh.
With the birth control like Seasonale or Seasonique, it's normal to have spotting or bleeding in between actual periods. The commercials I see for these particular birth controls mention it all the time.
However, a 3 week long period...especially if you've continued taking your birth control as it should be (everyday at the same time)...is kind of a problem, and not to mention...a burden. I would make a note of this to your doctor. Let him/her know your concerns, and see what they say from a medical/professional aspect. |

Alright! I think I'll talk to her when I can, but I don't want to actually go in because it costs $20, and that's too much for just asking a question. I hope it stops soon.
