Hey there,

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I know stretch marks aren't the best looking aspect on our bodies. There's creams and lotions that you can purchase in the baby aisle of most drug stores that are for stretch marks. You can apply it to the area once or twice a day.

I hope this is helpful and congratulations on your pregnancy.

There is nothing you can do other than keep your skin hydrated. This will make your skin firm. Various creams with oils. Or just oils, coconut oil for example))

But if you're going to get stretch marks, you'll get them. It's definitely hereditary. Look at your mom - does she have a lot of them?

And just about everyone gets at least one or two (or a bunch!), so don't worry about them!

Stretch marks are a natural part of your body changing. Unfortunately, they are usually permanent, but they do fade over time (I've had and have lots of them I'm an expert) and there are some skincare remedies to try to prevent them or diminish the look once they appear. Creams with retinoids tend to be the most effective in reducing appearances of any type of dark spots. These are available by prescription and some options over the counter, but they tend to be a bit pricier. Alternatively, products that boost hydration of the area can help the skin stretch with less dark spots, so this can be used more preventatively. Here's an article that breaks down types that may be helpful. Good luck!

Re: remedies for stretch marks - February 25th 2022, 09:44 PM

I've never been pregnant, nor do I have kids, however I do have stretch marks due to weight gain caused by medication, I find any thing (cream / emollient or oil )that contains Vitamin E is good at helping to reduce the stretch marks and make them less visible. I tend to use coca butter or bio oil - I've had alot of success with bio oil helping to reduce the appearance of my scars from self harm etc, so it may help to reduce stretch marks too or to reduce the appearance of the stretch marks.
