Wrong to ask a co worker for her number even though she has a boyfriend? - August 8th 2017, 04:17 AM

I'm 19 she's 20. The only reason I know she has a boyfriend is because a girl who used to work with us mentioned it but she never even directly said it to me. We work in a warehouse with 60+ employees and she tells me about how the guys are creepy and she said that a guy she never even talked to asked for her number and she said no. But after that she said I don't mind giving people here my number as long as they aren't creepy. She said other people there have her number but I don't know who she would have gave her number to. She's told me more than once that im not creepy. We kinda talk a lot. She's been dating her bf for 3 years...

I feel like the implied question here is could you / should you pursue something with her even though she already has a boyfriend. My feeling is that if I were in your position I wouldn't do that, because I wouldn't want to be the cause of a breakup. Then again, there's no harm in trying your luck but you shouldn't be pushy and shouldn't expect the best (because she does already have a bf, so your chances of getting together with her are much, much lower).

If you want her number, just ask her. As I said, don't be pushy, because that's creepy and rude. I also think that if expressed in the right way, flat-out telling someone you like them can be totally fine. But if you do that, again, stay humble and accept whatever her response is.

If you want to ask her number in order to pursue a relationship than it is inappropriate since you know she has a girlfriend.

If you just want her number to be friends and maybe have someone to talk with and hang out with at work than it is not inappropriate and she probably won't mind.

Pursuing a relationship with someone that has a partner is not something I would advise. A lot of people could end up getting hurt and I have seen some guys go pretty crazy if their girlfriend ends up cheating on them. The other thing to consider is that this girl might just want to be friends with you because she thinks you are nice and if you take her number and try and pursue a relationship she could end up getting really uncomfortable or annoyed and it could change her opinion of you.
