Re: Monthly Book Subscriptions?

I'd like to use Owlcrate so much! I hope, I'll get the subscription for 6 months or more as a present for Christmas :P Now I just buy and sell used books, to save the space and money, you know...

Re: Monthly Book Subscriptions?

Got my owlcrate! For those who have the subscription I'm not going to spoil it But it's amazing. I go my book of the month a week ago, I picked The Chalk Man I have yet to read it though because I also ordered The Martian and Artemis by Andy Weir with it

You might want to look into the nocturnal readers box or fairy loot. The nocturnal readers box is kind of a horror and mystery box, I believe. Fairy loot is strickly fantasy. I've heard good things about both and I think you can see unboxings of both on YouTube.

I've only tried Owlcrate once and it's pretty rad. Once I have a stable income, I really want to do the 6 month subscription.

You can google them and you can see the past boxes. Some of the books they have had were Eliza and Her Monsters and Before She Ignites. Both are books that I absolutely loved and Eliza and Her Monsters is probably one of my all time favorite books of 2017.

That being said, I think that they are a USA based subscription box so if you aren't in the USA you would likely be charged for international shipping.

I believe there are UK based subscription boxes. Fairy Loot is one but they are a fantasy book box so if you aren't big on fantasy you probably won't enjoy that one.

Re: Monthly Book Subscriptions?

I have done book of the month, PageHabit and Owlcrate.

I currently have a six month subscription for Owlcrate and I love it.

Pagehabit lets you pick a theme which can be pretty neat and I believe that comes with annotations from the author.

I like that both Owlcrate and pagehabit because you get a book plate from the author.

I know that Uppercase box is a YA subscription that is a bit cheaper and they have two plans. They have a plan where you get a book and 1-2 items and they also have a book exclusive plan where you get the monthly book but you pay less because you don't get any items.

I have not tried them but I know there are Booktubers who have done unboxing and I know a few people through facebook groups who have seemed pleased with it.

Uppercase might be an alternative to book of the month...if you prefer YA.

Best regards.

Monthly Book Subscriptions?

So I have subscribed, just once to both book of the month and owl crate. I want to see which one I like best. I'm learning towards BoTM because it's cheaper and I pick what I get but I also know owl crate has young adult books which I love and you get a few.

I guess I'm wondering if anyone has ever subscribed to either of these and what your thoughts are on them?
