Have you posted in the forums yet? They're one of my favorite areas of the site because there are so many things to do there. You can ask for advice, give advice, talk about current topics, and even play games. 
If you're not a forums type of person, you could always check out the chat room sometime! Well, you should still stop by even if you are a forums person because it's a great place to make friends anyway.
