Do what's right for you, ya know? If you are worried about your friendship being slightly awkward if things don't work out, I am not going to lie. Yes, sometimes after things happen, friendships are not the same for a while and perhaps never. But wouldn't you say exploring your options could be worth it? It depends on what you think. I can't make the decision for you, you have to trust yourself and what you think is right. I, personally, would ask her out. You seem to really like her and by becoming her boyfriend, things would only get better. If it does still bother you though, take some time to seriously consider how much you like her. If you like her a whole lot, I wouldn't think twice. You don't want to regret not asking her out. Don't rush the decision though, take you time. Your mind might change in a week, or maybe even overnight. Make sure you want to date her and see where that goes.
