Dont know what to do - August 11th 2012, 03:47 AM

Recently, I've been to talking to one of my really good good friends who knows everything about me. He knows that I cut myself and that I want to kill myself really badly. But he says that he is going to tell someone about everything so he can help me et help. But I don't want help. I don't want anyone else to know about everything. It wasn't really my choice to tell him I cut because he used to and I looked at his arm one day and then he tried to look at my arm just in case and I pulled away and that's when he found out I cut and we just became good friends. But hack then he promised he wouldn't tell anyone that I cut or wanted to kill myself. But now he is about to and I don't know what to do. How can I stop him because I really don't want him to....

Personally Chloe, I think what he's doing is a good thing. You can't expect him to carry around the fact that you cut and want to kill yourself all by himself, can you? While I know it's a lot for you to deal with, it's also probably a lot for him to deal with too. I know that if one of my friends was like that and I knew about it, then I would tell someone too, because I care about them and don't want anything to happen to them. Your friend cares about you Chloe. That's why he's going to tell someone.

I honestly can't think of any ways for you to stop him, not that there should be any. I know having someone find out is hard, and having someone tell someone else even after the said they wouldn't is hard too, but you deserve help. Even if you don't want it, you still deserve it. Carrying stuff like this around all by yourself isn't healthy.

Hope this helped

I agree with what Hannah said. And while you can't really stop your friend from telling someone, maybe you and your friend could figure out the best way to tell the person and the best person to tell. If they're going to tell, you might as well have a say in it to. It won't be easy, but your friend wants to help you.
