Major Depressive Disorder - August 12th 2012, 03:26 AM

Hello all-

Well, I'm diagnosed as Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, PTSD, and Non-Verbal Communications Disorder.

I'd really like some information on how my diagnosies may be effecting me, how they make me different from others, etc. I've noticed that I'm more clingy and co-dependent than the average person, I'm very shy, socially-awkward, and I get much more anxious about everything than the normal person. These things really effect my ability to relate to others, make friends, have positive social interactions, and just be a normal person. I'm increasingly nervous about it as I go back to school- a new school, new year, new everything- on the 16th.

I've dealt with bullying since a very young age and I'd like to know more about the effects my disorders have on me, how I'm different, and just how to be a happier, more normal person.

Thanks!

Just realize that who you are is who you are. Who cares how many things they've labeled and diagnosed you with? You are you. And if you want to change that, you can. You can't change the past, but you can shape the present.

So, it doesn't matter what you have. If you let this bring you down, yes, it will affect you. But it's you who is standing in your way. Try to overcome it. I realized not too long ago that the reason I feel like a failure, or anti-social, or rejected, or alone -- it wasn't from other people; it was me stopping myself, degrading myself, and tearing myself down.
So I quit doing that.

Just don't let it hinder your life. YOUR life, not your depression's life.
God bless.
