cyberfriend tried to kill herself - September 4th 2012, 10:27 PM

hey..as you can see from my username and title..
my twitter friend has attempted suicide she says she feels so alone and as much as i want to be there for her..its so hard because i dont know her properly and cant just go rushing to her house to help because she lives so far away.
i've suggested she gets help, but she said she can get through with someone with her, but she feels she hasnt got any friends or family to turn to.
i dont know what to do, please help???

Just keep reminding her that she is beautiful, amazing, that you love her. Because hearing those things could make her day. My best friend was cutting herself so every time I see her I mention how great she looks. It made he smile the biggest of smiles Just give her heaps of compliments and be there for her when she needs someone.

Hope it helps,
Jay.

Well, without knowing her in person, the best thing you can do for her is be there for her. Offer to listen if she needs someone to talk to, and make sure she knows that you care about her. As mentioned above, compliments usually help, but don't overdo it or it could seem fake and/or get annoying. You've already recommended that she get help, but you can't force her to. You could also give her some hotlines to call, which might help. Here's a list http://www.teenhelp.org/forums/f3-general/t22-hotlines/
