This might sound stupid but I'm not sure how to go about this - September 12th 2012, 01:03 AM

Okay, so I take out my emotions by writing, and you may have seen a few of my poems on the 'self expression' part of the forums. My mom would like to read my poems and I'm okay with that, but I have self harm, depression, suicide, ednos, those kind of things in there. So how should I show her? I'm afraid she'll be upset.

The mountains are calling and I must go.

They whispered to her
you cannot withstand the storm
she whispered back
i am the storm.

That is not always an easy question, It all depends on how much you are comfortable with. If you are comfortable with her knowing all of this personall information, or even not comfortable but feel like someone needs to know it, then by all means yes you should share it. In the end she will always love you, and will more then likely be more worried about you than angry. If you don't feel comfortable or safe with her knowing then maybe you shouldnt. Maybe you should show her some and not the rest. Do you self harm and/or feel suicidal? forgive me for being so blunt, but if you do than please reach out to your mom and be open about it. I have been there before and it just isn't worth it. pm me if you want to talkabout anything -Lexie
