Feeling Lost - September 21st 2012, 04:14 AM

Hi all. So I just joined this forum. I need something. I just don't know what.

The last couple of years have been really rough. My father died. My mother and her partner, who raised me since I was about 3 (I'm 19), split up and she moved to another city about 8 hours away. My older sister and I stayed with our stepfather until my sister moved in with her boyfriend. Then my stepfather moved his new girlfriend in and now it's the three of us. I like them and we generally get along well although it seems they're always on my case about something or other, usually cleaning. I almost flunked out of high school, but barely made it by and managed to graduate.

I thought everything was fine, but I think I might have been in denial or something. It's like all these changes suddenly hit me like a ton of bricks. I've become depressed. I've had suicidal thoughts. I don't feel like doing anything. I don't know what I want to do. I don't see what my future looks like. I have a boyfriend and he's a lot like me. We're both kinda just drifting.

Keep your head up. Don't give up. In times like this you need someone. Keep your boyfriend close, don't let him drift. Think about all the times you've had together-the good. Do you really want that to drift farther away?
Talk to each other and let one another know what's going on.
Try to do things you enjoy to get your mind off the negative thoughts. I suffer from depression and I know when I talk to someone about what's going on or do things to get my mind of the negative thoughts, it definitely helps.
Some things that help me are- talking to a counselor/mom/friend, making bracelets, reading, making collages, journaling, writing, singing, blogging, taking photographs, etc.
Hopefully you have something you're passionate about and that will help you.
