Stuck in a rut. - December 10th 2012, 08:22 PM

Been feeling really down lately. I live on residence at my college. It's exam time.

My roommate and I are going through this awkward silence thing. We were really close up until a week ago and then I don't even know what happened and now we're not really talking. I asked her if something was up she said no just stress. But she still sees her other girl friends and hangs out with them.

Got an essay mark back that was worth 25% . I thought I did really well since I put in the effort but she ended up marking it as a 54%. This devastated me as it brought my mark down considerable. I e-mailed her and she said we can talk about it on Wednesday.

Studying for exams is just depressing as all hell.

Haven't seen my boyfriend in a 2 1/2 weeks because we've both been busy with assignments and studying.

Trying to stay positive because it's almost Christmas and it's something to look forward to but damn, i'm just depressed lately. Hoping this will pass..it's scaring me.

You'll get through it. I bet after the holidays everything will become crystal clear for ya I personally disliked studying for exams...what would help me it taking half hour breaks and going for a walk or grabbing a snack.
What I would do with the bf situation is write down all the things you love/like about him and then email him it or maybe send it in a letter, he'll certainly get happy when he reads and knows that even though you two haven't seen each other you're still thinking about him.
I heard lots of people get depressed during the Christmas season, because there's less sun and it gets darker earlier...it sucks...I too hate it. But to cheer myself up I go get a hot chocolate, listen to my favorite tunes, watch a movie.

This is the WORST time of the school year. The stress of exams, the anticipation of Christmas (but it's SO far away), and just being all-around busy! The best thing to do is take it one day at a time.

Don't stress about your exam. Last year, I ended up completely failing one of my finals, but because of the extra ways the teacher allowed me to get extra-credit, I got a B out of the class. It'll be fine.

As for your boyfriend, randomly text/email/whatever-you-use-to-communicate a short message. Just a simple "I love you" or something. Those short, thoughtful things can brighten both the sender and the reciever's day.

Once Christmas comes, you'll be able to relax a bit, so just take it one day at a time until then. Make yourself a cup of hot tea, sit back, a rest for just a few minutes.

"Hearing is believing, music is decieving
Hard as lightning, soft as candlelight
Dare you trust the music of the night?
Close your eyes, for your eyes will only tell the truth
And the truth isn't what you want to see
In the dark it is easy to pretend
That the truth is what it ought to be."
