Birth control?! - December 13th 2012, 12:03 PM

Just wondering if any girls on here are using birth control that DOESN'T make their depression worse. I've been on Cerazette pills for just over a year but I feel it's making my mood really, really low...

I was on a good one, which didn't cause depression but caused other health problems so would definitely not suggest mine.
Just ask your doctor or whoever prescribed the pill to you?

Jay.

Different birth control pills effect everyone differently so it would best to set up a consultation with your doctor to discuss what option is best for you. Just because one type doesn't cause one person to become depressed doesn't mean it will effect you the same. Your doctor will know best what type to try you on. Best wishes I hope you are able to get it all sorted out.

Loestrin24Fe was good for me. I've got Mirena right now, and that hasn't had any effect on my mood whatsoever.

My friend has been on two different ones and they both advise "mood changes" as a possible side effect but are also expected to go away after awhile.
