Re: freaking out - February 7th 2013, 12:41 PM

Whether or not your friend was at school I think you should tell someone. Suicide is a serious subject and as soon as someone tells you they are thinking about it you should let someone know.
I think you should go to the guidance counselor at your school and confide in them. They'll be able to check if your friend is okay and be able to offer support and help them get help for their problems. Whether or not your friend will be happy or angry you told someone, a true friend always has their friend's best interest in mind. Not telling someone because they might get mad at you is, in a way, selfish.

I hope your friend is okay.

Because of the imminent risk that might be posed to your friend from her thoughts, I think that this can quite easily be considered an exception; admittedly, anyway, it shouldn't take too much out of the counsellor's schedule for something quite so important.

Re: freaking out - February 7th 2013, 08:16 PM

I do believe that you should tell somebody, asap! I don't see why you couldn't just show up to your guidance counselors office with an emergency. Also, if you would like to tell somebody sooner, maybe speak with your friends parents or even your parents? I know that whenever my best friend threatened suicide, I called her mom and 3AM.

You have to do what's best for your friend. I know that she made you promise not to tell, but in this situation I think that this promise could easily be broken and for a good cause. She'll thank you for it someday!

Best of Luck!

I think you should go first thing in the morning! I know it's scary, but it's better to find out what's going on than to be caught off guard by something! <3 It'll be okay, love!

Hm, I know that's scary, but try not to look into the situation until something is said about it! They could have easily been talking about a wide variety of topics! Have you tried contacting your friend since school today?

It isn't your fault! You did the right then, even if you hesitated, everyone does that at some point! You did the best that you could! <3

Hey there, I'm sorry to hear about this situation. Yes, you did the right thing by informing adults and what not. It's a scary situation, but you tried your best. That's all that matters. Sorry that something has happened to your friend. But please know it's not your fault. You questioned what the right thing to do was. That's completely fine. Every body does it. You still went for help. Which is amazing, and what a true hero would do.

Nobody knows why bad things happen, they just do. I'm very sorry about everything that you have gone through and are going through. It is going to be tough for awhile, but it'll eventually be okay. <3
