Sad - April 15th 2013, 10:41 AM

I just feel constantly stressed and unhappy about everything. I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror or a reflection on a dark screen and I cry. I always cover my face with makeup even at home of face mask so my skin doesn't show. I chart how many hours I sleep so I can grow more. I look up plastic surgeries and watch makeover shows. I know I have a problem with the Internet. It is literally my life. I become really obsessed with things that aren't at all relevant or are going to happen anytime soon. I always think about getting some disease and dying to be done with it all.

I'm sorry to hear about this. I understand how you feel, I've felt like this a lot and can relate. Although, I imagine you're really beautiful. Self-esteem problems are so hard on us. Especially when a pretty face is so common on tv and movies, and everywhere really. Thing to remember is your personality, it's so much more special than looks and will get you so much further relationship-wise.

I'm sorry to hear about your thoughts. I know things must be pretty hard right now but honestly, life is a blessing and we take it for granted a lot. Health as well. But I understand what you mean, and how you could be feeling this way. I think the best thing you could do is reach out to someone and talk to them about how you're feeling lately. Your parents, siblings, relatives, friends, teacher or school counselor. Even a therapist. Just reach out and tell someone your feelings. Being able to get some things that are bothering you off your chest and having some support could really do you some good. If saying it out loud to someone is too difficult, you could always leave a note for them to read.

In the meantime, try to work on your self-esteem by focusing on little things you like about yourself. Find one thing, appreciate it and try to find other things. Physically and mentally. Try to make sure you're getting enough sleep and have a good diet as this effects mood and stress. Take walks outside and do things during the day because sunlight increases a natural chemical in your brain that induces more positive emotions.

Interest yourself in something new. Take up a new hobby. Go out with friends, do something fun you enjoy. Try to make life happier for yourself. Everything gets better eventually but we have to help make things better as well. Writing in a notepad/journal can also help you express your feelings better.

Keep in mind that life doesn't stay like this, okay? You can get through this, darling. I'm here if you need someone to talk to.
