Crisis team - April 24th 2013, 12:42 AM

Hey guys

So early today(this morning), I SH by cutting.Well,I cut too deep,& need stitches

Had lunch, & its was... horrible, I absloute hate hospital food(and school lunches).

So after that, I had lunch,& hospital food SUCKS(more than school lunches). Then we talked to the docs.,& they suggest to talk to the crisis team.

I have appointment scheduled soon.So... I'll ask some questions:

More questions:

What is a a crisis team?
What do they do?
Also I'm planning on telling them I'm having suicidal thoughts(that I actually have an plan,& at times considering to kill myself). Now,Since I'll tell them that-What are might they do?

I'm from the u.s is that matters

From my experiences (each hospital may be different), a crisis team comes and talks to you. They assess you and determine whether or not hospitalization would be the best option for you. For me the crisis "team" was one person. I am not sure what you will have but I don't think there will be a lot of people (but don't quote me). They asked me questions like...

What are the stresses in your life and how do you handle them?
What coping skills do you use?
What medications are you taking?
Do you feel like harming yourself again?

Questions like those. They might visit you more than once also, but again, it depends. If you tell them you are having suicidal thoughts, they will do what they believe is right. Every person is different, and every situation is unique. So there is no way to completely know what they will do.
I am sorry you are going through a rough time and I am always willing to listen.

Good luck, and don't be scared. There is nothing wrong with getting help.

Hey there, sweetie.

I am so sorry you hurt yourself that badly to need stitches. I've never talked to a crisis team or had any experiences with one but I've heard quite a bit about them. From what I understand, I'm pretty sure they're more like a therapist that'll ask you different questions and try and help you through things like this, get you back on track and try to help with your self-harm and suicidal thoughts. They may hospitalize you for the self-harm and suicidal thoughts, I'm not sure. But honestly, you say that your parents won't help, I think that telling the crisis team about your suicidal thoughts and things going on would help you so much. You could have someone helping you through this, you won't be so alone. You deserve some help and support. Don't be afraid.

Stay Strong <3
