Unhappy Help - April 9th 2016, 03:27 AM

Well,here goes...

I just want to run away from this education system in Hong Kong.
Parents and teachers in HK don't understand feelings. Most of my classmates say the same thing, so don't expect me to consult them.
I've sort of lost hope, like no one cares. The only thing parents care about here is studies.
Here, if you don't get accepted into university, then your life is basically OVER.
It feels like a jail.
I don't get to just enjoy myself. After 7 hours of school, when you just want to relax, your mom screams "do ur hw!!!" And you do till 11 and wake up at 6. School. Repeat.
Im 11 and i have NEVER went to my classmate's home o even just hang out with them during non-school hours. You're not even allowed to go out yourself.
fuck life.
I think every child in Hong Kong feels like this.. there has been 20 suicidal cases for children in Hong Kong for, like 3 months.
I do not want to be one of them.

I think that you've went through a lot, and it's best to just rebel... or just maybe sneak out once in a while. Try explaining to your parents that it's really making you feel down, and it's not really good for you to be a part of this conservative/suffocating way of doing things .. I think that what you have to do perhaps explain to your parents that you need some fun, or else you won't actually be able to concentrate. Explain to them about child suicide, and they might understand you more. I know that it's tough, but sometimes you gotta do what you want to do.

Perhaps try to explain to them that you're dealing with a lot of pressure, and that you feel like you're suffering through a lot of shit.. and that it's overwhelming . Try making them understand things from your perspective, so it's better for you to just talk to them heart-to-heart and say that you're going through a lot. Make your point clear but don't incite their temper.. I know that stubborn parents usually have bad tempers, and it's best to keep things diplomatic.

You don't have to be part of those who're suffering. You could be one of those people who can both study and have fun at the same time. Most of all, a happy childhood leads to a better time in school, and elsewhere.

You'll have my support and you'll never lose it. Feel free to rant to me any time because I wanna know that things are getting better for you!

It's called a tunnel because there's ALWAYS a light at the end.

rant to me if there's anything!

As usual... pm me if you are ever having a tough day, and I'll respond immediately.

You guys deserve to be happy no matter what.. okay? You people are a bunch of lovelies ... and no matter what, you people deserve to be happy.

Hi there.

You are not the first person to tell me how intense the education system is Hong Kong and I'm not surprised to learn that it is getting to you.

Whilst education is important, there does need to be a balance of work and play, or burn out is inevitable.

I understand that weekdays are pretty much non-stop work, but do you ever have any time off at the weekends?

If I were you, I would speak to your parent(s) with the aim of reaching some sort of free time agreement. Explain that you understand the importance of schooling, but that if you are feeling like this you are not going to be able to perform to the highest standard. Therefore, having some time to relax would actually improve your education.

Be kind to yourself.
