Question is it a sign?!?! - April 27th 2016, 03:52 AM

OK So I typed out this email to send to the guidance counselor explaining that I get stuck in suicidal ideation and that I have bad eating habits... I've been sitting here contemplating pressing the send button and quickly just pressed it but low and behold RIGHT when I pressed it the internet went down and the email couldn't send.. AND then it started POURING down rain... Is this a sign? Should I not send it???

Hello!

It's great that you're reaching out for help! Whatever you're dealing with, you're not alone. It's a good thing to ask for help, guidance counselors are (obviously) there to guide you and you shouldn't hesitate to tell them anything. That being said, you don't have to force yourself to share something you don't feel comfortable sharing.

To answer the question, it all depends on your spiritual belief, if you believe in signs and such. Personally, I'd put it down to coincidence and go ahead and send that email because you're doing the right thing by talking to a counselor.

Hope that helps! Feel free to PM me if you need anything.

See you around!
Love. - xx

It's not a sign.

I do think that it's better for you to send that email to the guidance counselor, because the more they know about their situation, the better they'll be able to help you. Also, I do think that you might be overthinking things... your eating disorder and negative thoughts are also partially caused by your anxiety and lack of belief in yourself, and it's best for you to have as many outlets as possible to talk to and get help regarding it.

Send that email.. it's the right things to do and it'll help the guidance counselor help you!

I'll be here if you need anything too... PM me anytime and I'll reply you immediately! You can count on me

Hey

Thanks for coming to us here!

I can understand why you think this would be a sign but in all honestly I think that the best thing for you to do would be to send this email to the counsellor. I think you're struggling a lot right now and I think having some help could really help you at the moment and I personally think this was just a coincidence so I really want to encourage you to send the email and reach out for that help because you deserve it more than anything.

I hope you manage to send the email and remember we're always here for you too!

I understand how you'd think it is a sign. I tend to get tangled up in jinxes and signs and such but something that helped me is the fact that a sign can really be a test. Maybe it is a test to see if you'd rise up to the challenge?if you'd go ahead and try again or would you get discouraged.

You deserve to be helped and regardless of the outcome, your intentions were good, to reach out. That sounds like a good thing to me and any sign that tells you otherwise may not be a sign worth taking advice from. At any rate, I hope things work out and whatever you end up doing, know you can come back here. Take care

I have to agree with everyone here that you should probably go ahead and send the letter anyway. As much as I do believe in signs and such, some things do happen to challenge or to try and set us back. It's our job to overcome that.

I'm also really glad you are reaching out for help! That is amazing and I hope that you get the help you deserve. If you ever want to chat, feel free to message me. <3
