Help, please. - November 23rd 2016, 12:16 AM

I been depressed and I dont know why. I found another way to cope with my depression but lately it aint workin. I used to cut but instead I been smokin. And neither seem to work. Music just makes me more depressed. Takin walks puts me in my feels (which I think is why Im depressed bc of my feels) Drawing just doesnt seem to work. And Im scared that I will do somthin I regret if my depression dont stop.

Hey there,

It sounds like you are trying really hard to distract yourself from the negative thoughts you are having. I am sorry that your normal distractions aren't working. Something I suggest is that you look through the Alternatives to Self Harm and see if any of those help. Sometimes old distractions don't work like they once did and that's when you have to try and find new ones. That list is pretty extensive and might prove beneficial.

I would also suggest that you look into therapy. I know that might be hard to do but at the end of the day having someone to vent to about the things that are going on in life can help. Also, therapy can help you figure out what your stressors are and help you find ways to cope with those stressors.
