Possible diagnosis?? - July 31st 2017, 03:54 AM

I have been told by my therapist I could possibly have borderline personality disorder. I'm diagnosed with major depressive disorder but I'm starting to evaluate myself more and I believe it could be possible that I do have borderline personality disorder. If anyone has any experience or knowledge in this field it would be greatly appreciated!!

Im not an expert but I do have some knowledge on this.

Some behavior symptoms are: antisocial behavior, compulsive behavior, hostility, impulsivity, irritability, self-destructive behavior, self-harm, social isolation, or lack of restraint.

Some mood symptoms are: anger, anxiety, general discontent, guilt, loneliness, mood swings, or sadness.

Some psychological symptoms are: depression, distorted self-image, grandiosity, or narcissism

And some more common symptoms are: risky behavior or thoughts of suicide.

If you have any of these than you may have borderline personality disorder

I got these off the Mayo clinic btw.

Hey,

I know there are a few people on the site who have BPD so I hope that they will come by and help.

One of the things I wanted to say is that BPD is a very stigmatized and misunderstood disorder but if you have it it in no way impacts who you are as a person.

The biggest things I know about BPD is that it has to do with instability of emotions. I would suggest that you write down some questions to ask your doctor the next time you see them. They will be able to answer those questions and will also probably be able to help you understand why they thing you might have this diagnosis.
