Why? - August 3rd 2017, 12:35 PM

Last week my grandfather passed away from cancer. My mom had me go to dance class this week and do something with my dad and I was doing a little bit better until last night. We went to go and check on my grandmother because she hasn't called anyone back. And she was laying on the floor and we had to get help because she wasn't eating. Why would she do this, I'm back to hurting and now I am so depressed and down. It has been so hard, I hurt so bad and I can't make this pain go away. Why is all of this happening. Why can't this all go away and I don't hurt like this anymore.

Emma,

To answer your first question was your grandmother physically hurt or was she just laying on the floor? If it was the latter, you have to understand that your grandmother is probably grieving the loss of your grandfather. People handle grief differently and when someone as close as they presumably were, it would cause symptoms such as not eating, not reaching out and just sitting around. Pain does different things to different people.

I also understand that you're hurting and it hurts because you don't want to see your grandmother this way, and I'm sure you're also grieving the loss of your grandfather. Have you chatted with your family about how you are coping with all of this? I think that would be helpful, family, during times of grief can be the best form of healing.

Are there any other things that are making your depressed?
This pain won't last forever, and it's very normal with the circumstances that you are in.
If you want to chat more, feel free to send a PM/VM to me. <3

Thank you for your reply. My grandma said she doesn't remember passing out. My parents called an ambulance and she has to stay in the hospital for a few days to get better. My mom talked about him passing away Sunday to me. I just don't want anymore terrible things to happen in my family. I just want everything to be ok.

I can understand that.
Nobody likes when bad things happen to the people that we love, sadly it's a part of life.
I would try to live everyday in the present. Enjoy and be with people while they are with us.
Sometimes we we're worried about what's going to happen in the future it zaps all of the joy we could have with the people we have now.
