They've made me feel so much worse. I can't breathe, huge panic attack. Ugh. I want to hurt myself, but I don't, do I? Ugh...

Just breathe slowly. You dont want to hurt yourself you know that isnt the right way to deal with a situation.

Hi LJ.

What is it, exactly, that is making you feel so much worse? If you manage to type up some more about how you're feeling right now, we may be able to help you a little more. Talking about your feelings can be very helpful when you're feeling upset. It's good that you've come here to talk, it shows great strength.

Hurting yourself isn't going to solve anything, LJ. Perhaps figuring out what is making you feel this way would be a better idea. What is it that's making you want to hurt yourself? You could check out the distractions thread [here] - it is important that you recognise that there are other coping methods available to you.

As for the panic attack, if you take a look at [this thread], it shows you how other people have managed to deal with their panic attacks, perhaps if you check it out and try a few methods which have been explained there, it could help you?

Re: Help? - May 25th 2009, 02:25 PM

Everything is falling apart. I'm getting worse, they're going to section me soon I know it. My doctor keeps talking about me spending some time in hospital to relax. Relax? I can relax perfectly fine in my bed at home, can't I? I can't breathe, everything is spiralling out of control. I keep having flashbacks. I've tried to talk to so many different people but all they do is shout at me..they shout and shout and make me feel so low, I swear my life isn't even worth living. I'm a complete mess, I really can't take anymore, I can't. I don't know what to do...

Hi LJ,

Well, I have just replied to your other thread so this might be a quick answer. I really hope your feeling a bit better now, I know how horrible panic attacks can be. Has your doctor told you about some breathing techniques? One that I find helps me is 7/11 breathing..Simple you just breathe in for a count of 7 and out for a count of 11. Do it for about 5 mins and your anxiety will go away! (well, it should do).

Im sorry that people are shouting at you, it can't be very nice. I think maybe it would be a good idea to spend a bit of time in the hospital? I know you could relax at home but they can help you more in the hospital, they are specially trained for that and it could make you feel better. I don't think you have anything to lose by just going and if you go in voluntarily then if you really don't like it then you could just leave again.

Anyway, I really hope this helps a bit
