Hurting - July 4th 2018, 06:12 PM

When you are feeling depressed and you feel like you don't know how to be okay. You feel like you're heart has been broken in a million pieces and you can't put it back together, and you're not sure how to tell you're family about this and the words will not come out. What do you do? How do you get you're happiness back? How do you get out of this dark place that's pulling you down? You just keep crying and the hurt will not go away. How do you be you again?

I'm sorry that you're dealing with depression and I totally understand how it feels to think that it'll never be better.

The way people deal with it varies. For me, therapy helped. Others need drugs. Some people can start engaging in things like self care (yoga, exercise, eating better) and find their depression lifts by engaging in things that make their bodies and minds happier. Any of those 3 things could help.

Have you considered finding a way to see a therapist without having to tell people when you're not ready to?

Have you considered looking into therapy? It sounds like you are dealing with a lot and that you aren't feeling happy; if you had a therapist you might be able to talk to them about the things that are going on. I know it can be hard to consider therapy but you might benefit greatly by doing so.

I am wondering if you've been able to talk to your family about what is going on. It might help to reach out to them and see if they can help support you through this. Also, if you talk to your family you might be able to get them to help you work on getting into counseling.

Here if you need.

Thank you so much for you're reply. I have been thinking about therapy. I will try talking with my parents. And see what happens.

I agree with the others, I think therapy can be extremely beneficial. You don't have to go through this difficult time by yourself, reach out to your family for support. I'm sure that's what they want too, for you to reach out and talk to them.

Hey Emma,
I know how it feels to be this depressed and can't seem to pull yourself out of it. I know you dance and I was wondering if maybe you could get out of the house more to go to the dance studio? I know you may not feel like dancing at all right now, but form experience if I kept doing the hobby I liked even if I didn't want to my mind wouldn't go to the dark places while I was doing it.

I know you said you don't know how to tell your family that you are struggling, and what is going through your mind. I think maybe if you don't have a therapist then you could tell your parents that you would like a therapist and ask them if they can help you find one. If they ask you why, all you have to say is that you are feeling down all the time and don't know how to cope or explain it to them in a way they would understand. Hopefully they will help you find one.

I hope this has helped. If you ever need to talk I am just a PM/VM away.
Your Friend,
Frankie<3

It's okay not to be okay
Sometimes it's hard, to follow your heart

Just be true to who you are
