I'm tired of working so hard at life - June 1st 2009, 03:03 PM

This thread has been labeled as triggering by the original poster or by a Moderator. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

I'm tired of working so hard for all of this. I'm tired of the constant lecture from my parents, from the expectations of the world. I'm scared. I don't want to grow up, but I hate where I am right now. I wish I could run away from all of this. I don't know what to do. There's nothing I can do.

all you can do is try your hardest and never give in. running away from your problems only makes them worse when you have to face them later on. the lectures from your parents and the expectations from the world can be aggravating but we all go through things we wish could just go away. all you can be asked to do is what you want to do, just remember, there are those who care about you. you still have a while before you become of age and until then just do what you can, and just keep yourself happy. remain strong, although it may be very difficult, and i promise you, things will get better.

Sammy, I know that parents just seem to lecture and moan, but they all they want is like the best for you. And growing up isnt that bad You become more independent, and you get to make your own decisions

hey hun, sometimes parents do expect too much from us. but that's because they see us as themselves, and when we grow up, i guess we'd understand more about the parent psychology...
but hun, whatever they do, it doesn't take away your worth. you are still who you are, no matter how much you're going through.
life gets tiring sometimes, so always give yourself time to relax and reflect. but remember that in life, we're meant to struggle. the only difference is made when we struggle powerfully, no matter what the circumstances are. you're stronger than you think hun. when you think you can't hold on anymore, actually you can hold on much longer..
don't give up!!

I know what you mean about working so hard...just feels like your constantly having to keep going without any reward? If you have a strong support system you can get through it and see the reward in the end. Plus you have a lot of strength in you already, I mean you've thought this long already haven't you? You get stronger aslong as you keep going. Give yourself a break from time to time, go out and have some fun or just lay around the house. Do something to take your mind off things.

hey, i know exactly how you are feeling. i feel it right now. i have this fantasy that i can just stop going to school and stop feeling pressure to get straight A's. i want to walk into work and not be the dependable one for once. i don't even care about getting recognition for what i do anymore. it is better to receive the recognition then not, but i just want to sit at home, watch movies, read books, or just enjoy my summer without responsibility rearing its ugly head. but it is always going to be there. maybe you just need to make a little more time to the things you enjoy, so that your life doesn't feel so routine. i wish i could help more, but if you want to message me feel free. i definately understand the pressure you are feeling.
