Sometimes - it's OK to be depressed - June 17th 2009, 10:51 AM

Hi Everyone!!

I hope you're having a dandy day.

But if you're NOT - that might be OK too.

Depression - at least when caused by an event or situation outside of ourselves [As opposed to some sort of 'chemical imbalance'] should be considered a 'good thing'. [Or at least an 'OK thing'] Depression is - after all - a feeling. And ALL feelings - I say - have their 'place'. Sometimes denying ourselves the right to be depressed serves no other purpose than to make it all that more difficult for us to move beyond that feeling and onto something considerably more tolerable. Perhaps - instead of always feeling as though depression is a 'bad thing' we should look upon it as just one of those things. Sometimes we're happy. Sometimes we're sad. And sometimes we're somewhere in between. So instead of thinking of depression [Or sadness or whatever] as being something we need to run away from - we should - instead - work our way through it.

"OK - this is how I'm feeling today. What does it mean? And what can I do about it?!"

Just a thought.
