Re: Depressed, Nobody to talk to, No friends. No self esteem, No confidence, No happiness, No suppor - August 9th 2009, 09:12 AM

Hmm, I'm new here as well, but I do believe you posted in the support forums.

I know how you feel. Honestly, I have been there at times as well. About the friends coming and going, trying to change your image, wanting to get completely fucked up just so someone could see you. My father, before my mom divorced and won custody, was a horrible person who didn't have a son, he had a beer slave. "Hey, go downstairs to the fridge and get me a beer." "But I'm doing my homework." "SCHOOL IS SHIT. GET ME MY GODDAMNED BEER NOW."
I know what it feels like to have the whole world against you, that is why I am a shut in as well, staying in my room on my computer, only leaving to use the restroom or eat. It feels good because we can be anyone we want on the internet, but this is the real me, and that is the real you.

oh, and by the way, everyone looks stupid in their permit photos.

Re: Depressed, Nobody to talk to, No friends. No self esteem, No confidence, No happiness, No suppor - August 9th 2009, 10:50 AM

Wouldn't we all like a miracle drug that makes us happy? The harsh reality is...there isn't one. And I've looked, believe me.

I was where you are at one point, with the driving. Just got my permit and was awful at driving. I think I'm better at it now - or I better be, I'm getting my license on Monday.

Never anyone you can talk to? I know that feeling, too. But you're on that computer all day 24/7...and no fear of your low self-esteem doubting your looks on the computer. You're on here, and you said something and I said something - it might be a pretty lame conversation, but it's a conversation all the same

Self-esteem and confidence take a long time to build up. Driving may actually help you become more confident - although your Dad yelling at you, probably not. Self-esteem...it's weird, but self-esteem relies on other people. If no one ever says anything positive to you, you have low self-esteem. But if people are always being nice to you you have a high self-esteem. One day, you're going to find someone to compliment you all the time - I know you will. You'll get more friends to help you with that.

And for what it's worth, you sound quite attractive to me. Maybe you should try tying your hair back sometimes? I hate to do that, in general, but it does come in useful. Maybe you'll find it will, too.

Interesting - anyone else notice we're all 17?

Hope my post helps a little - sorry if it doesn't make much sense.
