That Empty Feeling - January 8th 2010, 01:08 AM

Hello...
I Just Want A Little Advice On What I Should Do Here, For About 2 Years Now I Have Been Depressed, I Have Even Attempted Suicide By Paracetomel Overdose Several Times, And Its Getting Worse, I Mean Outwardly I Put Up This Front Of Being Happy At School, The Funny One In My Clique, Trying To Make People Smile, Its Like, No one Knows The Real Me, And I Really Have No One To Talk To, I Hate Life. There Are One Or Two Kids Who Would Love To Be In My Shoes I Know That, Were From A Pretty Well Off Family, My Dads A Vice President And My Mum Is A SCEO, But It Seems Money Won't Fill This Huge Void In Me, I Really Want To Just End It All Right Now, But My Previous Attempts At Suicide Have Failed And I Was Forced To Hide Them From Everyone, I Really Don't Know What To Do, I've Considered Taking Up Smoking And Drugs... But I'm Reluctant To Do That, Can Someone Please Help Me Out, No One Knows Or Understands Me...

Well, first of all, welcome to TH. Don't ever think that no one cares or no one wants to listen because this site is made up of some awesome people, and many of us are going through similar things, so I'm always willing to listen if you want to PM me, and a lot of other people are as well.

But it sounds like you have a good number of friends. Are you closer to any of them than the rest? I'm sure someone around you has the decency to at least listen to your problems and not judge you.

If you don't feel like that person exists, then perhaps you can go see a doctor who will refer you to someone you can talk to because it is definitely a lot easier telling things to someone who doesn't know you personally.

All I can say is don't get into drugs and don't think that ending it is the only way out. I've seen other people who do things to get rid of their problems such as drinking, and I'm even struggling to stop abusing alcohol right now, but trust me, it only makes everything worse.

There are people that care even if it doesn't feel like it. You might think it sounds insane, but even though I've never met you, I care. It's obvious you want help since you came here, so try your hardest to do whatever you can. Good luck.

Waitin' for my ruca.

Re: That Empty Feeling - January 8th 2010, 04:11 PM

just wanted to encourage you to reach out for help to people in your life because it sounds like you may have a mental illness such as Depression. Many Mental illnesses like depression are treatable with medication, therapy, and lifestyle changes such as eating balanced meals and getting enough sleep. It is however very very hard to go it alone. Your life is valuable, and with treatment things CAN get better.

the only thing you can count on is change, so why don't you stick around? This too shall pass. Things get better, things get worse, but it won't be this way for ever. Don't be afraid to ask for help. your life is valuable.

Maybe trying to bring up some of this stuff with your friends would help, even if its just bringing up a tiny bit at a time. It's also great that you joined TH, because there are lots of people who will be able to relate to you here!!

Well first off, stop living that way. Don't put on a mask, accept that you have it and don't act as if you don't in front of others.

Well get to know yourself better. It is good that you don't want drugs or things like that. And secondly, find something that you love/like doing. If you can't then just live your life while searching for something you love.

I don't think your depression can be treated by medicine. To me it seems it is deeper. Meditate on it and perhaps you shall find the correct reason as to why you are depressed. Think about when it started, perhaps something happened that brought this about.

And also watch some comedy(clean comedy) that you will like so that you can laugh and begin to see the wonderful side of life.
