Feel alone - January 30th 2010, 11:03 PM

hi, ever since I moved from my hometown and had to make new friends I've been struggling ever since. Everyone at school has known each other for 10+ years doesn't help either. It's my last year of high school and I feel hopeless. Someone tell me that life isn't like high school.

Hey There, moving schools can be a hard time, just join some social groups or after school groups?

Then you will find people with the same interests as yourself, and you will always have something to talk about.

Just be yourself, you can't be or do anything other than that.

Try that and see how it goes.

P/m anytime.

Ugh, moving to a small town sucks! I did last year. The only way to make friends is to just put yourself out there. Talk to people. To make it easier there's bound to be a new kid sometime, so you should talk to them. Then again, you do only have half a year of school left. There's tons more out there than high school drama, but some people stick to that long after their high school years are over. Surround yourself with good people, and you won't have to feel like you're in high school ever again.

Waitin' for my ruca.

You just need to be more confident with yourself, and trying to be more independent. Do something you're good at school by joining a science club, art club, or such, it will be useful later on! This article might be useful a bit..

Hey life is DEFINITELY not like high school. I know how you feel too. Well in elementary it was different but similar. We moved, and I was in the sixth grade. I'd had trouble at my old school making friends. And in the fifth grade I had finally made them. I cried for a week in the the sixth grade during class. Kids must have though I was weird and I had to talk to the counselor. Seriously depressing for a kid to go through. Everyone knew each other and everything. But time passes and you'll meet people either through different activities or classes you take. In high school there's all of these little cliques and groups and loners and artists and sometimes it seems as though you don't fit anywhere and you're alone. Once you graduate, the real world hits you. There's nobody there to hold your hand, the real friends still are connected with you, but usually it's just you against the world. the freedom is incredible and beautiful. It's as though you can finally be yourself and do what you want because it's what you want. Life in high school can suck sometimes. Just try doing after school activities, art, or something you love. Time passes and it'll all just be a memory one day, what matters is how you love it. Don't feel hopeless, it all gets better.
