I feel so abandoned right now. A month ago my dad drops me off on campus three hours from my home saying that, yes, he has paid my tuition and not to worry about it. A week later I find out he hasn't. I also find out he cut off all connections with me and even went as far as disconnecting his phone. Because he hasn't paid tuition, I can't register for classes. I've talked to all the financial aid people, school counselors, the assistant dean, housing offices, ... basically everyone on campus. All in all, now, I'm getting kicked out of my dorm with no place to live and no money because I'm not registered for classes and no longer a student.

My father kept me isolated so I could "focus on school." And now he's abandoned me three hours away with no friends, no family (my mom no longer speaks to me because of him), no money, no anything.

Everyone says that once you get into college everything is set. They said "don't worry about the money, it's easy to get money for college." I don't see that anywhere. It was supposed to be easy once I got accepted.

I've tried, you know? I've tried to do everything right. I tried to get good grades and to get involved and everything. It's gotten to the point where I don't want to get out of bed and deal with my life. I'm so tired, and I want to die. I've got all the details planned out. And it's just so easy to carry out that plan. I just don't know what to do anymore. And I'm scared. And I'm just about to give up.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. That sounds horrible, and I don't think you deserved it at all. But is there anyone you can stay with? No matter what you think, there's always going to be someone who cares about you and is willing to take care of you, regardless of whether or not you even know them. You probably already know this, but the only thing you can do now is find somewhere to stay and get a job. Don't give up, though. You can do so many things once you get back on your feet. Things WILL get better.

Waitin' for my ruca.

Hey there,

I am so sorry that this has happened to you. I know how difficult it must be.

Since you have talked to people about this is there anything that can be done? Can they readmit you next semester and in the meantime help you with Financial Aid? I know that this situation seems impossible but I know that you can make it through.

Do you have any family that you can call and ask for help? I know you said that you don't talk to your mom anymore but do you think there is any chance you could call her up and ask her for help? If she realizes you are struggling she might make an effort to help you. If not your mom is there any other family you can talk too? An aunt or uncle or something?

Can you take out a loan? I know that loans are a scary thing but do you think that that is something you can do?

I know this is all scary and stressful but you can and will make it through if you take it all one step at a time.

Please hang in there and if you need anything do not hesitate to pm me.
