parents. - March 28th 2010, 11:42 PM

So for the past few months i have been feeling.. overly depressed. I do not know how do deal with my parents. All i hear is how disappointed they are in me. How i'm not doing good in school. I am an A - B student. I am constantly compared to all of my friends and even my older brother.

I have stopped talking to my parents because everything conversation leads to an argument. Even when I dont talk i still seemed to get yelled at. The words disappointed, ashamed, and unsuccessful have become redundant to me.

Im running out of options. I just want to get out of this house. It is no longer a home to me.

Hey Sarah

Gosh, for a moment, I thought I was reading an entry from my journal. I'm going through the same stuff. I know it's tough. Incredibly so. I'm sorry they're comparing you to everyone, I HATE that feeling. My cousins are all in ivy league schools, but i'm on the path to community college. But all we can do is take it with a grain of salt. Try to stay out of their way.

Feel free to PM me if you'd like

Hey sweetie. I was in the EXACT same situation when I was your age. I still am even after I moved out in a way. I once tried talking to my parents about it, how they were making me feel and how I couldn't deal with it anymore. I'd like to say they listened and changed, but they didn't. Parents are stuck in their own ways. They don't see that what they're doing is really tearing down their child. In their minds, they're helping them. They're trying to give constructive criticism...only they're missing the helpful bits. Just hang in there. One you graduate, you can leave them behind. It's a very liberating experience.

R.I.P. my sweet baby boy. I miss you so much more than you could have ever imagined.
