My best friend, more than likely. It would be too awkward talking to anybody else.

PM me anytime if you ever need to talk.

Always feel free to contact me.

My dad has a friend who I've known my whole life, I'd be comfortable talking to her, but I might want to ease into the subject since NO ONE knows about it and I'd hate to just drop it on her. I'd also be comfortable talking to her husband, but he passed away about 3 years ago.

My doctor or my best friend. In the past i've talked to my psychiatrist, therapists, best friend and teachers. Currently, I only feel as though my doctor or best friend would be an option for me.

When I'm really down and feel I'll do something stupid, I usually go to my long-distance boyfriend-like thing, who is also pretty much my best friend.

Re: suicide and depression - April 19th 2010, 11:41 AM

I've been there before and I know for a fact that I can't talk to anyone in my day-to-day life about it. Don't know why, just can't. Depending on my mood, I may tell my best-friend on TH about it though.

Actually, if I was feeling really vulnerable and desperate to get things off my chest, I may approach a teacher at school about it.. But then again, I don't trust any teacher enough to talk to them about it so... yeah, back to square one haha.

I would probably tell my best friend(s) and ask one of them to help me tell a teacher.

In the past when I have felt Suicidal, I would have gone to a teacher, best friend, or my doctor.

I have an irrational fear of involuntary commitment/hospitalization, so I'd probably only feel comfortable going to a friend. I wouldn't go to my parents because they'd be terrified and the awkward silences and conversations would go on for months.

There's three people I would consider talking to; whether or not I actually would is a different matter xD The first is my doctor because I've spoken to him in the past, there's a friend from work who I'm really close to and knows a lot of stuff about me, I know he would understand and be there for me no matter what I needed, and the third would be my flat mate.

Re: suicide and depression - April 21st 2010, 07:32 PM

I would want to tell my friends, but while those thoughts are running through my head, I wouldn't be able to. I've been there before and it took me months to tell my friends. The first time I cut, I told my friend after the fact, but it was the same night (which I think is progress).

my best friend because I know I'll listen to anything she says, and I know she's been in the same place.

Maybe that will help.” Harvey Milk, 1978
