I want to die :/ - July 18th 2010, 07:30 PM

I don't even feel to unhappy like I usually do - I just don't see any hope or point.

I don't know what to do. :/

Hey Alex.

Sorry you're feeling like this, for real. That's not fun. ): I think a lot of times, unhappiness over prolonged periods of time does start to fade into feelings of hopelessness. And I guess when it gets to that point, there are a few things you just have to make yourself do.

First of all, do you see a professional? I know it's everyone's "go-to" piece of advice, but seriously, I do believe in the power of talking and being evaluated by a professional who has had experience dealing with individuals who might be feeling similar to how you've been feeling. If for some reason you're unable to see a psychologist or psychiatrist, I think it'd always be worth a try to see if you might be able to see one of the counselors provided by your school when you go back in the fall. (:

In the mean time... try to make the little things count, you know? Looking forward to different things and setting small goals can help immensely! Also, surround yourself with people who you love, and who love you, too. Just being in the presence of people I want to be around makes me feel about ten notches better, and I think you'll find that you feel the same way!

I hope things work out for you, Alex. Hang in there!

I don't see a psychiatrist or anyone. My doctor was going to refer me to one but the place is quite far away, and I'm a bit worried about going alone or getting lost. (I don't really want to ask my friends to go with me, and my parents don't know about any of this). I just can't really see how speaking to someone will help anyway.I've done it in the past and it hasn't really helped at all. It'll be a waste of time.

I think I might have a go at talking to my counselor at college, going once won't do any harm, will it? =/ I can't tell them much though, because surely they'll have to tell my parents if I was endangering myself?

Thanks for your reply, Katrina. I do appreciate it.

Sometimes things get hard and life does get a little....demanding. But you just have to keep your head up high, doll. Don't let petty things get in the way. As for the feeling of hopelessness, don't worry. That's so normal. I deal with the same thing some days. The trick is, like Katrina said, talking to someone will help Also, getting excited over small things works, too. And just remember that you always have the TH members, and we love you You mean the world to me, and I love you so much. Even though I don't know you, I know you have potential, and a long, happy life ahead of you

I can feel you all around me
Thickening the air I'm breathing
Holding on to what I'm feeling
Savoring this heart that's healing <3
