What if I... - July 25th 2010, 04:59 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering, particularly on the subject of self harm, by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for certain sensitive users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

What if I used a knife to slit my wrist would the gay come out? Stab a knife in my head so the gay would leak out? What if I put gasoline on me and lit a match would the gay burn up?

Nope.

Must be hard to be gay, I couldn't imagine. But its more of a mindset than anything, I think. I mean, best advice I can give you is don't do anything stupid, because causing yourself bodily harm will not change the situation.

There is no way to remove the gay yet according to medical studies. Since you are stuck with it, why not try to adapt to the gay. Cherish it and celebrate it.

Hey!
Nope, nothing really can wipe out being gay. But, I think you should embrace the fact that you are gay. I don't see why being gay is so bad, even if the people around you find it weird, they probably don't know what they're talking about, because they're not gay.
And more than anything, I think why people feel ashamed that they are gay is because of the society. If the society finds it unacceptable, people think they're "freaks" or "abnormal" if they are gay.
But you shouldn't let that get you down. You are in control of how you feel, of what you hear, of what you think. Use that to help you love yourself for being you!

Take care!

No. First of all, there is nothing wrong with you. I think you should embrace who your sexuality. Hurting yourself will not solve anything. It will create so many problems for you. There are people you can talk to- friends, family, counselors, etc. -- people who care about you and who hold no judgments against you.
Fortunately, we live in a society where all types of lifestyles are accepted. You are so lucky for that!
Dont bottle up your feelings. It will make things worse and it will make you implode. There is nothing wrong with seeking help from others. The benefits you receive from it are enormous.

I hope this helped.
And please be safe!

Do you really want to know people who judge you on your sexuality? I wouldn't give them a second of my time. You're 19. Move somewhere else. Most people couldn't give to shits about peoples sexualities these days. You're just living in the wrong place apparently.

I have moved this thread to the LGBT forum as I feel it fits better there.
Let me know if you disagree.

I am kind of against it because it involves more suicide, but it does not matter to me so do whatever you like

Re: What if I... - July 28th 2010, 06:02 AM

You cannot make the gay go away and I know that that concept is hard to explore or accept. Please do not harm yourself because of this because with time you can grow to accept it.

I have a lot of gay friends and I have heard a lot of their stories. Some of them tried to commit suicide and others contemplated it because of how they hated that part of them. However, one day they decided they no longer wanted to hate themselves and they wanted to accept themselve. Some went to support groups, some went to gay clubs in town and made friends. They came out to themselves and accepted themselves and slowly the part of them that wanted to die because of their sexuality faded. A lot of them say they are happier then they ever thought they could be. That can be you too.

I would really recommend that you get into a LGBT support group to get some help. Meeting people who are or have struggled with their sexuality like you are can really help. It helps to realize that you really are not alone.

Here is a link that might help you find a support group in your area.

http://www.glbtnearme.org/

From there enter your area code, mileage and click on youth and you should get something.

This website also has a helpline etc which might help you out.

Please hang in there and if you EVER need to chat pm me.

Oh dear!

You can't take away that kind of stuff. You should be proud of your orientation. People lately have been really judgemental. You seem to be very ashamed to be gay, and it's probably because you're afraid of how others might treat you.
You have to be 100% happy with yourself before anyone else can. Is there anything else you hate?
When you've finally accepted the way you are, and if other people don't forget about them. It's their loss for being rude to an amazing person; not yours.
It's only the people who truly matter you should care about, and if they don't accept you, then that also isn't your problem.
Your beauty is what you are on the inside; the person you are. People should only care about that.
I'm here if you ever need someone to talk to <3
