I'm sick of everyone here complaining - July 26th 2010, 02:11 AM

I am getting sick of my mom and dad and other people ALWAYS complaining because things are not done around the house ie dishes, chores, etc.. I always do my part and alot of other things.. it's gotten to the point where they yell and scream at me sometimes. I sometimes may joke around about some things and a parent will GO off.

I'm sick of everyones constant whining and complaining. I'm feeling depressed and sad. I've almost wanted to cry quite a few times. I hate being yelled at and treated like this. It is basically if anyone yells at me or says I'm doing something wrong is when I feel like crying or being depressed as well. I have only went down in tears 2 times at work because of rude customers. This is all not to do with just parents but almost everyone.

Anna,

I know the feeling but I promise you and I can both make it through. Sometimes our families don't understand what is going on or their own stress gets in the way of them supporting us but that doesn't mean that we are not important.

I want you to know that you have every right to feel the way you feel. I know for a fact that it can be really hard to have people yell and scream about things when I am trying my hardest. When I am yelled at for things I sometimes feel the same way you do because in my head all I can think is 'I am doing the best I can!!!'

Sometimes the best we can is not good enough for other people but in the end you know that you are doing the best you can and that can be good enough for you. Whenever your parents yell at you just remind yourself over and over that you are doing all you can. That might help a bit. It won't take away the fact that they are yelling but it might help you distance yourself from it and believe that you really are doing the best you can.

Also, have you tried talking to your parents about the way their yelling makes you feel? Maybe you could sit down and write them a note and give it to them at a time that is less hectic and hopefully won't lead to an argument?

Please hang in there and remember that you are important and you are doing the best you can.

If you need anything feel free to pm me.

Jenna
