umm hi
I have never been home schooled and im now in year 11
as far as I can tell changing to home school would be perfect for me and an easy thing to do.
I mentioned it to my mum and she looked annoyed and said "we will see" which always means no and she hasn't mentioned it since!
then my older sister said I was being a horrible selfish baby and that my mum has enough problems without me adding to it!
I feel guilty now because of how much I hate school!
The teachers are horrible my timetable is horrible i get bullied and the second i walk out the door i burst into tears feel sick and want to go home i hate it!
even thinking about going there is making me cry!
my mum has arranged a meeting with the head of my year but they wont fix anything the only way i can think of that would help me is home school but my parents wont even consider it!
i have been thinking that the school thinks i will never have a futur so why am i still putting up with this!
i just want to end it all!
i don't know what to do!

Re: homeschool? - September 6th 2010, 05:17 PM

Hey there,

I hated school too! When I was growing up I was teased a lot and it seemed like it wouldn't get better. There were times when the teasing got so bad that I felt like the only thing for me to do was end it all. However, I hung on and things have turned around. I don't get teased out in the 'real world' and I have found some really cool and understandinf friends. I know that hanging on can be a really hard thing to do at times but don't let go of the hope that things will improve.

Now, I think it is good that your mom wants to have a meeting with the head at your school. I know that it might not seem as if it is going to accomplish much of anything but in there and wait and see. I think your mom is doing what she thinks is best. She is probably hoping that if she can talk to the head at your school the three of you can work things out.

Here is the thing; home schooling is not always the greatest thing. I ended up going on home schooling twice in my life and I did not enjoy it either time. I didn't have any interaction with people at all. I might have felt lonely at school but homeschooling added a new type of lonliness. Maybe your mom doesn't want to result to home schooling because she is worried that instead of helping you it will only make things worse.

By talking to your head I am sure she is hoping that it will help things imrove. I don't think your mom is doing this to ruin your life or anything like that. I think she is trying to do what is best.

One suggestion I am going to make is that when you go talk to your head have a list of things you want to bring to both the head and your moms attention. If they can fully understand what you are going through they might be better able to help you.

I hope this helped and if you need anything feel free to pm me.

Jenna
