Unhappy Help Me Please - September 24th 2010, 03:23 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering by the original poster or by a Moderator. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

I was sitting in class the other day; I came to the realisation that my life sucks. Its not worth living. When I got home, that day I took a knife to my wrists, but I didn’t cut. Why? Why couldn’t I do it? I wanted to die so badly.

Hi Pele,

We're all glad that you didn't harm yourself that day. Harming yourself isn't worth it because of several reasons:

Life is worth it. It's just that at certain times, it may be hard to realize this. Life is always worth living, we just need to realize our place in the world.

Life is a rollercoaster. Sometimes we're so happy we wonder why we were ever sad in the past. Sometimes we're so sad we wonder how we ever achieved that kind of happiness in the past. The point is, when we're in deep in the valleys, we're tempted to make judgments and decisions that are not for us to make. When we're on top of the hill, things are a lot better and our rationale is much more intact.

I hear you out Pele. You say you want to die. But right now, I think you're just going through a dark phase. If you can restrain yourself from thinking thoughts like that, you'll be so glad once you're on top of that hill in your life.

Perhaps you could elaborate on your hardships? If you ever want to talk, feel free to PM. I'll be glad to listen.

Sincerely,
DC

I have scars too. I cut myself about 4 or 5 months ago with a pen lid and it looked as though I burnt myself. Most of my scars now are faded dark lines. I’m really tempted to try it again, but I’m just afraid that I won’t be able to go all the way through with it. L, even though I really want to.

I’ve dealt with these hard times for 11 years, some I can’t really say, but they’re mainly school, work and family issues. I just can’t deal with it anymore
