Hey there,

I am sorry you are struggling but I want you to know that you can make it through this. My counselor told me that for some people winter and the holidays can be a hard time. That kind of sucks but if you think about it it is a good thing because it means it will pass. You can pull through this.

Do you have anyone you can talk to about the way you are feeling? I know that reaching out can be hard but it might help you pull through this. It really helps to have a support team behind you when you are struggling with sadness.

Do you think you could look into getting counseling through your school. I know that a lot of schools offer counseling and it might be just what you need to get back on track.

Has anything triggered these feelings? If you can get down to the bottom of the reason why you are feeling this way you can slowly start to deal with them and start feeling better. A counselor could really help you with that.

Another thing that might help is journaling. Journaling is a great way to get out all your pent up emotions and figure out your triggers. If you don't do so alread maybe you could keep a journal? If you don't want anyone to see what you have written you could write down your feelings and then tear the paper up. In the end all that matters is that you get all the pent up emotions out.

I really hope this helped and if you need anything please feel free to pm me.

Jenna

i don't go to school. i just have a job.
Counselling doesn't work, i've had psychologists but to see one it's a 12 week waiting list.

Yup sure has been triggered,i look like s**t and keep comparing myself, i deleted my facebook account ages ago but keep going on there to compare to other girls i used to know, i go on google and search for beautiful or sexy girls, not so i can perve but simply so i can bully myself into believing i'm a ugly looser and it's working! i can't help but do it! it's an obsession but it gets me down. I look a mess in the winter! I've suffered with depression for years now and it always gets worse in winter! i hate myself! i'm so ugly and messed up, i just deserve to be bullied for the rest of my life!!!

Thank you for replying by the way

My Depression always acts up the worst during the winter too but it's always there, popping up when it feels like it, at random intervals throughout the year. This may sound weird but get involved. I volunteer for a local no-kill animal shelter three days a week and, if I wasn't there to keep myself occupied on the weekends, I'd be a lot worse. It's entirely possible to fight this. Keep busy; don't give it much time to get you. I mean, I'm on medication, in therapy, and always busy with stuff (I've actually got a ton of stuff to do for the shelter by Saturday) and it still gets me but it does help.

Good luck.

If you get a blast of depression in the winter, it may be SAD. Sad stands for Seasonal Affective Disorder. SAD is where you feel okay for most of the year, but when winter hits, so does your depression. It is caused by a lack of vitamin D. So I recommend to start taking vitamin D pills everyday. There are lights you can get, however they can be pricey, so I'd look into them before investing in one.

People with SAD may sleep too much, have little energy, and may also feel depressed. Though symptoms can be severe, they usually clear up. Do any of those apply to you? From your post, it seems like you may be a good candidate.

I'm here if you ever want to talk, take care.

And here you are living, despite it all.
