What is the reason for depression? - December 13th 2010, 06:20 AM

I'm young. In good health (apart from being tired). I grew up in an ok house with a good family. So why do I feel so depressed? Sometimes I just break down for no reason at all. Other times I get upset over study or having no friends but is that really depression? Some one said I'm a drama queen so maybe I'm not depressed?

Hi there, and welcome. We can't tell you if you have depression or not, if you think you do you should talk to your doctor. As for where it comes from, it can be genetic, but not always and it could also be caused by a chemical imbalance.

Hey there,

Have you ever considered going to the doctor for this? It might help you get to the bottom of why you are feeling this way and it might give you a proper place to vent your feelings.

Do you know why you are feeling the way you are feeling? I think it is important for you to figure out why you are having these episodes so you can work on resolving them. There are a number of ways for you to identify your triggers but the one I like most is journaling. It is a great place for me to vent my feelings and I have slowly started figuring out what my triggers are. Maybe journaling will help you?

I really hope this helped and if you need anything feel free to pm me.

Jenna
