Exclamation Have you spoken to Samaritans? - March 18th 2011, 07:02 PM

I was just wondering if any of you have actually been in to the drop in at Samaritans and if you did how was it? How long were you able to talk to them for? Where they nice to you and understanding? Did you ring before hand to let them know you were going or just drop in? Were you struggling with depression, self harm, suicidal thoughts etc and if so how did they act to it?

Anything else you have to say would be reassuring. I really need some help.

Thankyou.

I haven't done the face to face either, but have been thinking about it at my local one, so I'm quite interested to hear the responses too :P Although if I do go soon, I will let you know. I've never rang them, but have done the email service. It was quite helpful for a little while, but I think I find it more helpful speaking to someone in person. I think it would be helpful to call in advance, but it probably wouldn't matter too much.
Good luck! I'm here if you'd like to talk. ♥

Thanks for your replies guys. You're all really brave people.

I have spoken to them once on the phone before and emailed them a few times but sometimes it just isn't enough. I don't like not knowing who I'm talking to, I want to see their faces and I want to make it harder for me to lie my way out. It's just a really scary thought. I might try just ringing them again. We'll see how it goes.

You could always ring them and ask about the face to face chats?
Trust me i'm not brave i am still struggling on and today is one of my bad days, however someone who was like a second mum to me died of cancer in January and she made me promise i wouldn't do anything and i'd try smiling so i have to stick to my word even though i don't want to at times.

Life is too

Short to spend

It at war with

Yourself.

Iím catching stars in the sky because I am fixing the soul within me. May it be from the heart a girl broke years ago or my soul simply repairing itself as it was shattered on my walk on this earth. May the stardust fill those cracks within my soul making me brand new, but never forgetting who I once was.
