Let me get straight to the point...

I was wondering whether waking up early in the mornings was a sign of depression?

And also what do anti-depressants actually DO?
Heh, I'm some-what confused...

Ive never heard of waking up early being a sign of depression. And the most common form of antidepressant is called an SSRI (selective seratonin reuptake inhibitor). Basically that means that it blocks the seratonin receptors in your brain so that you've got more seratonin floating around up there.

anti depressants make you less tired during the day and help you not cry so much. They also help with sleeping which most depressed people have a promblem with. They make you not tired during the day so you can get things done. It takes away the aches and pains depression caused. You dont feel like dieing on them and you dont feel worthless all the time. They also help your concentration be better.

I know this because I have depression and have taken anti depressants. Hope this helped {: pm me if you want.
