But I miss it when it's gone. - June 26th 2011, 07:19 PM

What do you do when you feel empty?
Sometimes I feel emotionless. Like, I don't feel good but I don't feel bad.
Othertimes, I just want to be happy because I'm so low. Then when I am happy, I want to feel low again.
I don't understand.
Why would I want to feel down? I force it upon myself sometimes because even though I want to be happy, I want to be low even more than that.
I don't even know if I want help, but I'm posting this anyway...

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

I'm sorry that you're feeling like this. I know exactly how that is, I find myself feeling a like that, too. For me, I've realized that when I feel better than I have, I just want to go back to that low, miserable place. I've found that since that's where I've found myself for such a long, I'm comfortable there. A lot of times I don't want to be happy or in a good mood because it's unknown, and as odd as it sounds, uncomfortable. Have you thought about talking to someone about all of this? You could try talking to a friend or family member. Or maybe you could find a counselor to talk to. If you do need or want someone to talk to, feel free to PM me.

"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down "happy." They told me I didn't understand the assignment. I told them they didn't understand life." --John Lennon

"What matters isn't that you fell, but that you got back up. No matter how many times it takes, it's that you get back up. We fall down and all isn't lost." --Renee Yohe
