Relapse - August 20th 2011, 04:42 AM

I know most of you (who read my posts/talk to me) probably know that I have depression, anxiety, PSTD, OCD, and being studied for bipolar/EDNOS. However, I have been in remission for the depression/anxiety for the past few months. Lately, things have gotten really bad. I've started cutting myself again and resorting to other harmful things to "relief" my anxiety/depression.. It's really hit an all-time low. How do I tell my psychologist that I feel like my depression is relapsing?

Also, how do I ask for a different type of medication. I've told her that one medicine (I was on fluoxetine) didn't work for me but she just took me off... She probably should have put me on another one, right?

She should have put you on something else, yes.

A way I would try to bring it up is something along the lines of

Them: How are you doing?
You: Um, honestly...I feel much worse lately. A lot of things have been going through my head and it's finally gotten to me."

Something like that is what I, personally, would say. Maybe it will give you an idea. Write it on paper and give the paper to them if you need to. I used to do that with my first counselor.

As for the medicine, just casually ask "So, did you not think I would benefit from medicine since you took me off the last?"
