Okay, so.
My mom found out in like August that I'm depressed and she promised she'd get me help. Well, it's been more than two months and she's said several times, "Oh, I'll ask Jennifer. Oh, I'll ask Jennifer. Oh, I'll ask Jennifer." HOW LONG IS IT GOING TO TAKE!?!?!?!?!? Things are getting so bad for me mentally that I'm starting to dissociate, and that's scaring me. I just don't know what to do... If I tell my mom, she'll just say the same thing again. I'm thinking of talking to my school counselor but I'm afraid it'll end up right back to my mom. I'm losing my frikkin mind and I need help! Is it going to take a suicide attempt for Mom to see that!? (I am thinking about suicide...)  |

Hi Bobbie,
It sounds like you are going through a difficult time and I admire your courage to reach out for help. I recommend going to your school counselor or another adult who your trust. It seems as though your mother has a lot on her plate and does not fully understand what you are going through. I would also write your mother a letter. Sometimes, we hear things and they don't register until much later. A letter is a powerful form of communication. You can touch it and re-read it as often as you need to have the message sink in. I know you are in a lot of pain and I want you to know that you are NOT alone. Many of us have been through what you are going through or something very similar and we want to help. There is also a hotline that you can call! The people are awesome and will listen to what you have to say. I'm always here if you want to vent or chat. Maggie
One last thing. .. Remember to recognize your life as it goes by. Be grateful for all that you have and help others by being kind. |
