I have been depressed for 2 1/2 years now. And for about 3 months, I've had anxiety. I'm on medicine but I just feel like nothing is improving. I feel lost and confused. I often feel like I am in a dream or not in my own body. And earlier tonight, I broke down crying (again) and I just took 3 .5 xanax pills. What's going to happen? Will it hurt me? I want to die but something is keeping me here. Did I go to far this time??

I don't think you will be harmed, but if you start to feel extreme drowsiness, confusion, muscle weakness, loss of balance or coordination, feeling light-headed, and fainting, then you need to get to the ER.
Gabby, how long have you been on the anti-depressants? Some of them take 6weeks - 12weeks before they fully kick in. Usually 4-6 weeks is when OTHER people might notice subtle differences. If you are feeling like a zombie from the meds, then you can talk to your doctor and ask them to try something different. I was on Lexapro and felt that way. They bumped the dosage down and I felt a bit better. It worked great for awhile, but they needed to bump it back up. When they did, I felt like I was in a haze all the time. So they switched me to a med that worked and it gave me no side effects. This took me close to 3 years and about 4 different anti-depressants and about 3 other meds before we found what worked. It sucks so much trying to find what works, but in the end it's worth it. PM me if you need to talk, Gabby. So you have gray hair and you're only 26
that's just another reason I love you... ![]() ![]() ![]() |
