missing my ex

Missing my ex (it has been a year since we split and he was my first love) has sent me into a depression and also affected my other relationships. I feel like I cant move on even when I am with someone else I miss him. I hate this and I feel like I will never get over him especially because I know there is no one out there who will be just like him. Any advice? I know that I dont want to be back with him because he cheated on me and who wants to be in a relationship with someone they cant trust?

I can relate on some levels. I've never had a real bf, but I have found it very hard to move on from many of my crushes. I know, you feel like that person was perfect and there could be no better person in the world. But thats not true. The love wasn't meant to be because if it was, you'd still be together. That means there IS someone better out there for you. Someone who will love you like he should and who won't cheat on you for another girl. Yes, you will never find a guy exactly like your ex, but maybe thats a good thing in some ways? I know someday you will find the right guy. It just takes time.
